Project Information
Basic details about the construction project and its location.
Select all that apply. Categories align with Alberta building permit classifications.
Mass Timber Details
Required by NFC 2023 and NFPA 241 Ch.12 for mass timber buildings.
Affects fire exposure analysis and insurance requirements during construction.
Mass timber construction requires mandatory guard service when combustible construction exceeds 40 feet above grade. This will be included automatically in your plan.
Occupied Building Details
NFC 5.6.1.12 requires a 1-hour fire-rated separation between occupied and construction areas.
Any shutdown of existing fire protection systems during construction requires a fire watch and AHJ notification.
This will appear in the general information section of the plan.
The fire department or authority that will accept this plan. Leave blank if unknown and we will advise.
Emergency & Utility Contacts
Key contacts for the project. These appear on the emergency contact sheet posted throughout the site.
Site Supervisor
Health & Safety Officer
After-Hours Emergency Contacts

Utility Emergency Contacts
These will be filled automatically based on your site address — verify and update if needed.
Emergency Roles
Assign key emergency roles. On smaller sites, one person may fulfill multiple roles.
⚠  EMERGENCY ALARM — Universal Responsibility
ANY person on site who discovers smoke, fire, or an emergency condition must immediately sound the nearest air horn — THREE (3) long blasts. Do not search for a supervisor. Do not wait. Sound the alarm and evacuate. On multi-storey sites, each floor warden sounds the alarm on their floor upon hearing any alarm from any other floor. Every person on site is trained and authorized to initiate the alarm.
911 Caller
The person responsible for calling 911. Any worker may call 911, but this person is specifically trained and designated to provide full site information to dispatchers.
Fire Department Meet & Guide
This person meets the fire truck at the site entrance in an emergency and guides them to the fire location.
Site Fire Wardens
Fire Wardens monitor for hazards daily, verify air horns and extinguishers are in place, and ensure exit paths stay clear. During an emergency, each warden accounts for personnel in their area at the muster point. On multi-storey sites, assign one warden per floor.
Number of Occupied Floors / Levels
Used to determine whether the multi-floor alarm cascade procedure applies. Count all floors where workers are present, including basement and parkade levels.
Acknowledgment Signatory
The person who signs the plan confirming all information is accurate and the plan will be implemented as written.
Site Details
Location-specific information that will appear throughout the plan.
Be specific — this appears verbatim in the plan and on all posted emergency sheets. Must be away from the building and away from where the fire truck needs to park.
Calgary: (403) 264-1022  |  Edmonton: (780) 423-4567  |  Red Deer: (403) 309-8100  |  Lethbridge: (403) 328-4433
If yes, impairment of more than 2 hours requires AHJ notification and may require continuous fire watch (NFC(AE) 2.8.2.8). This will be included in your plan.
If yes, impairment of more than 10 hours in any 24-hour period requires fire watch (NFPA 25). This will be included in your plan.
Hot works include cutting, welding, brazing, soldering, grinding, thermal spraying, torch-applied roofing, and any other heat or spark-producing process.
Each fuel-fired industrial truck requires a minimum 2-A:30-B:C extinguisher on board (NFC(AE) 3.1.3.2).
A portable extinguisher must be within 7.5 m of any wood dust-producing machine (NFC(AE) 5.3.2.3).
A copy of your completed plan will also be sent to this address for your records.

Thank you. Your intake has been saved. The next step is to create your site drawing — then your completed plan generates and downloads instantly.

Skip the drawing step and you can go straight to your plan preview now.

Next Step — Site Drawing

On the next page you will be presented with a drawing tool to help you create a site drawing for your project. This drawing becomes part of your CFSP and is used by the Fire Department to quickly locate emergency systems, equipment, and site access points in the event of an emergency on site.

You will need your site plan or floor plan ready to upload as a background image. Accepted formats are .PNG, .JPG, or .PDF. If you do not have a plan available yet you can still place symbols on a blank canvas, or skip this step entirely and add the drawing later.

Placing Emergency Symbols
  • Click any symbol in the left panel to select it, then click the plan to place it
  • Switch to Select / Move mode to reposition symbols
  • Use the red rotate handle to change orientation
  • Drag the white resize handle to scale
  • Click the red X to delete a symbol
Drawing the Security Fence
  • Select Draw Security Fence mode from the sidebar
  • Click to set the starting point, then click each corner
  • A dashed preview line follows your cursor between clicks
  • Double-click or press Enter to finish the fence
  • Press Escape to cancel and start over
Shading the Driveway
  • Select Shade FD Approach / Driveway mode from the sidebar
  • Click to add points around the driveway area
  • Double-click or press Enter to fill the shaded polygon
  • Press Escape to cancel
  • Adjust opacity so the shading does not obscure the plan underneath
General Tips
  • Mark air horn locations on every occupied floor — required for multi-floor alarm cascade
  • Use + Add Drawing at the top to add drawings for additional floors
  • Use Zoom controls to work on fine detail
  • Submit & Continue saves all drawings to your plan
No site plan yet? That is fine — you can place symbols on a blank canvas or skip this step entirely and go straight to your plan preview. Drawings can always be added later.
